Landlord-Friendly Install Patterns

Cable management, ventilation, and non-permanent setup patterns that keep landlords happy.

## Stealth Off-Grid: The Non-Permanent Lab The goal of a renter's setup is to be "invisible" to a standard apartment inspection and leave zero permanent damage. ### 1. The Window Pass-Through Do not drill holes for solar cables. Use **Flat MC4 Ribbon Cables**. These ultra-thin conductors allow you to close and lock your window over the wire without pinching the insulation or creating a draft. - **Product Tip:** Look for 10AWG flat copper ribbon connectors. ### 2. The Rolling Server Rack Mount your custom build (Inverter, Controller, Battery) into a standard **19-inch Server Rack with locking casters**. - **Visuals:** It looks like professional IT gear rather than a "DIY bomb project." - **Mobility:** Allows you to wheel the entire power system out during maintenance or moving day. ### 3. Non-Destructive Mounting If you must mount charge controllers or breakers, use a **Plywood Backer Board**. - Secure the backer board to the wall using heavy-duty toggle bolts (easily patched) or lean it inside a heavy server cabinet. - Avoid mounting high-heat components (like inverters) directly to drywall.
